This thesis is a study of the epidemiology of the City of Cape Town during the first halt of the present century. In a sense it is an expansion and oontinuation of an investigation by Brook (1949) into the pattern of health end disease of the Cape Coloured people which he presented to the Medical Congress of the South African Medical Association held at Cape Town in 1949.
