Visual functioning and quality of life after pars plana vitrectomy for diabetic eye disease at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to determine the visual function and quality of life of patients 6 months after undergoing pars plana vitrectomy for diabetic retinopathy complications at the Groote Schuur Hospital. The study also investigated the association between quality of life and the indications for surgery, the type of procedure performed, pan-retinal photocoagulation before surgery, the duration of complications, age, gender, the presence systemic disease and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA).
