dc:description.abstractAn exploratory study was conducted to establish factors affecting a job skills training project offered by Cape Town Child Welfare (CTCW) in Phumlani Village, an informal settlement in Cape Town. The study answered the following main research questions: what factors affected the job skills training project in Phumlani Village? What were the project participants' perceptions about the job skills training project? and what views and experiences do the CTCW LOP unit managers have about the job skills training project as a poverty alleviation strategy?
