Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe Cape Floristic Region lies in the southwestern Cape, South Africa, and is known for its high species richness and endemism. This Mediterranean-type climate region receives winter rainfall that averages between 250 and 650 mm annually over most of the region but reaches an average of more than 1000 mm in the mountains of the southwest and southern Cape.
