Methods: A retrospective review of a paper-based Notifications Register and a database of culture-confirmed tuberculosis were undertaken. Laboratory and clinical data were analysed. Results: 1,314 episodes of tuberculosis were identified amongst 1,300 children. 433 (33%) of all cases were culture-confirmed; however, 120 (27.7%) of all culture-confirmed cases were not recorded in the paper-based Notifications Register.
