The authors know of no other screening instrument which has been translated into Afrikaans and isiXhosa and has been validated in South Africa; given the incidence of head injury and stroke in the Western Cape there is compelling evidence for the existence of an accurate, affordable, culturally appropriate neurocognitive screening instrument.
