The glucocorticoid receptor (GR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor which, due to its central role in anti-inflammatory responses, is a target of many therapeutically prescribed drugs. The GR undergoes multiple post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation and acetylation; however the role of GR acetylation in transactivation is unclear.
