While the field is highly technically developed, transformation of insights from infectious disease modelling into policy in a clear, timely, and relevant manner is oftentimes less thoroughly considered than its academic and technical counterparts. This PhD examines the use and utility of modelling in different country settings in three recent outbreaks. The first two research chapters are primarily technical modelling chapters while the third is a unique qualitative study assessing the role of modelling in Covid-19 policy.
