Sometimes Sad People Are Hard to Be Around: Fragility, Failure, and Resilience Through Clown

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This artist’s statement will explore the creative and analytical processes that supported my thesis production of Just Like the Moon by Lizz Windnagel et al. at the University of Calgary. The production opened and closed on November 27th 2020. PART I - DREAMS emphasizes my research and the conceptual phases of the work. PART II - REALITY delves into specific challenges, practical applications of the design, in-studio development and technical rehearsal process, and reflects on the iterative and generative power of failure.
