Development of new visible-light mediated reactions

Abstract

dc:description

The objective of my PhD research was to develop new synthesis methodologies in photochemistry and photocatalysis starting from readily accessible starting materials, prioritizing, whenever possible, the use of low environmental impact methodologies and technologies (using green solvents and oxidants, one-pot reactions, visible light as an energy source, etc.). The research project focused on developing new methods for synthesizing amides and esters. These two functional groups are very important in organic chemistry because they are contained in several natural products, polymers, pharmaceuticals, and synthetic intermediates, thus having a significant impact in the chemistry field.
