The research proceeds from the analysis of written sources and material documentation to define the role of this female figures as clients of some medieval Sardinian works of art between the tenth and fourteenth centuries. The investigation into the role of women as clients can be clarifying the position of female figures in the decorative choices. Examples of gender commission can be found in all of Europe.
