This testbed is an interconnection between the National Instruments (NI) 2GHz baseband system and state-of-the-art up and down converters at 1.05 THz frequencies. The NI 2GHz baseband system consists of several Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) blocks to perform essential functions, including Modulation, Demodulation, Encoding, and Decoding. In addition, it also contains non-programmable FPGA blocks performing Analog to Digital, Digital to Analog, Up and Down conversions. The up and down converters at THz frequencies are custom developed by Virginia Diodes, Inc. These use a Schottky-diode-based x24 frequency multiplier chain, an amplifier, and a directional antenna to up convert the 42.5 GHz local oscillator frequency signal to a THz carrier signal. This thesis provides step by step instructions to connect the NI 2GHz baseband system with the up and down converters. Multiple experiments conducted to develop the interconnected system are also explained along with inferences from each. The next steps towards completing and enhancing the interconnected system are also presented."]},{"key":"dc:format","label":"Dc Format","values":["application/pdf"]},{"key":"dc:title","label":"Title","values":["Development of the First Ultra-Broadband Networking Testbed at True Terahertz Frequencies"]}]}],"canonical_facts":{"dc:contributor":["Jornet, Josep","Electrical Engineering"],"dc:creator":["Singamaneni, Viswajith; 0000-0003-4610-801X"],"dc:date":["2019-07-29T20:03:08Z","2019","2019-05-15 17:31:06"],"dc:description":["M.S.","This thesis discusses the development of the first ultra-broadband networking testbed at True Terahertz (THz) frequencies.
