However, there is a lack of quantitative risk estimates for diseases such as cataract, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal cancers at protracted low doses of ionizing radiation, such as that received by medical radiation workers. Medical radiation workers participating in fluoroscopically-guided interventional procedures (FGIP) are of particular interest as these procedures may involve greater occupational radiation exposure compared to standard x-rays.
