Therefore, effective counseling interventions are needed to help children develop social skills that will assist them in daily activities. The paper reviews areas of deficits experienced by children with AS; social communication, social interaction, cognition, behavior, motor clumsiness, and sensory issues. Appropriate counseling interventions such as skillstreaming, social stories and comic strip conversations are detailed. Additional school interventions are described.
