The Effects of Sport Specialization on Adolescent Athletes
Abstract
dc:description.abstractYouth sports continue to grow worldwide. With this continued rise in popularity, it is important to take the necessary precautions to ensure that all adolescent athletes can enjoy sports with as little risk as possible. Sport specialization has also seen a rise in numbers among adolescent athletes, as many athletes try to gain advantages by putting all training efforts towards one sport. The purpose of this synthesis is to review the literature on the effects of sport specialization on adolescent athletes.
