Purchasing Behavior of Municipal Governments

Abstract

This study is an examination of the purchasing behavior of municipal governments, with respect to the acquisition of highly-technical products. Purchasing procedures as generally practiced today are examined and the influence of each of the various parties involved in the purchasing decision, as well as some of the decision-making variables is analyzed. From this analysis, marketing strategies and techniques are out-lined which might be effective for companies selling in the municipal government market.
