Perfil de resistência aos antimicrobianos frente à pseudomonas aeruginosa isoladas de afecções oftálmicas em diversas espécies: revisão sistemática

dc:description.abstractThe aim of this study was to analyze the in vitro response of antimicrobial resistance to Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from ophthalmic diseases in several animal species, using the agar-diffusion technique in agar (Bauer and Kirby, 1966). The investigative question was structured in the following situation: What is the sensitivity to antimicrobials against Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from ophthalmic conditions?. The bibliographic survey covered the PubMed and Scopus research database. Twelve papers were selected, using different antibiotic disks was evaluated. A total of 161 microorganisms from different animal species were isolated: dogs, cats, horses, penguins and grizzly bears. The most prevalent disease was ulcerative keratitis. The antibiotic classes with the lowest percentages of resistance were to aminoglycosides (amikacin, gentamicin and tobramycin), to fluoroquinolones (levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, nofloxacin and gatifloxacin) and to Imipenem. In the isolates were observed resistance of the 82,9% to chloramphenicol, proving not to be effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This is the prove that the empirical use of this antibiotic should be better evaluated due to the rapid deleterious effects
