Eat the opening of these new zones, increase water production, and it becomes increasingly difficult to identify which zone is responsible for most of the volume of water produced. The cost for this identification is high because it is expensive operations that require expensive probes and special equipment. According to this panorama, this work aims at the study and the application of the discriminant analysis in the identification of standard signatures of each producing zones and the development of graphical tools that help in estimating the contribution of each producing zone in the volume of water produced in wells that produce in more than one zone at the same time. The ion chromatography was the proposed methodology for the quantification of the ions present in the samples, which was validated for the analysis of major cations and anions simultaneously. The data obtained presented satisfactory values for the figures of merit, such as precision, selectivity, linearity among others.
