Avaliação do uso de ômega 3 em pacientes oncológicos: uma revisão de literatura
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis is a bibliographic review about the action of the fat acids omega 3 in the treatment of oncologic patients. It has been used books, original and review articles published on the database of Google, National Cancer Institute (INCA), Medline, PubMed and SciELO covering the last 10 years. For the prevention of diseases, including Cancer, in addition to a balanced diet, the daily intake of 1,1g for the women and 1,6g for men of omega 3 through food sources is advised. Nonetheless, in the cancer already established the daily intake recommendation of omega 3 has not been established yet, but the benefits related to this are numerous, mainly as modulator of the inflammatory and immunologic processes. The most of the studies mentioned here demonstrates that the supplementation of omega 3 may be used as co adjuvant in the treatment of cancers; however it cannot be concluded that is really effective, it is required new researches which indicate optimum level of intake between omega 6 and omega 3, EPA e DHA, frequency of consumption, which are the risk factors associated and the routes of action.
