Atuação farmacêutica no campo da saúde mental : uma revisão da literatura

With the new concept of health, how to exercise the pharmacy profession to promote recovery and this involves a new way of acting. With the enactment of the Health Law and the psychiatric reform, it is understood that mental health care should be object of health professionals as well as physical health. Although it is clear in law, professional practice in this area is not assured because of the lack of i ntegration of health professionals, lack of knowledge of this practice area in educational institutions, and the lack of incentive on the part of public policies towards the effectiveness of these practices to promote better services to the population. In this context was carried out a literature review aimed at identifying the publicized experiences of pharmacists work in the field of mental health in order to identify the prospects and difficulties in achieving these. We observed that several aspects of p rofessional practice are present, such as adherence to treatment, surveys about the irrational use of medicines, also bringing a vision of the educator role that pharmacists can contribute to improved h ealth practices. The role of the pharmacist was the di fference for the health practices in line with the new concept of health promotion were effected and the results show that these interventions are expressed in improvements in quality of care
