Óleos essenciais com atividade antinociceptiva : uma revisão.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractPain is an unpleasant sensation often caused by intense or damaging stimuli. The discovery of new and more effective drugs that can relieve pain and have fewer side effects is a topic of research in the pharmaceutical industry and the academic field , because pain is a symptom of many diseases. This review describes the studies about antinociceptive activity of essential oils. In the literature survey done in five years, studies with preclinical trials involving essential oils from 36 plant species we re found with antinociceptive activity. The main models of nociception were tested: the writhing test, formalin, hot plate and tail flick. The data obtained in the studies demonstrate the potential of this group of natural products as analgesics that can b e useful for therapeutic purposes
