Scientific evidences support that a great training program induces many benefits and, to get propitious results, a good nutrition seems to be as important as weight training. In this context, the research aims to analyze the body composition of people who work out and are assisted by a nutrition clinic in João Pessoa – Pa raíba featuring from anthropometric measures. 30 people that work out attended the research, being 43,3% women and 56,7% men. The “t” test was used to data analysis paired student with significant results to p<0,05, using Microsoft Excel 2010. After six we eks of weight training and nutritional assistance, favorable statistical changes were found in the body composition for both genders. Women decreased their initial weight from 65,8 ± 14,7kg to 63,7 ± 14,78kg reducing 3% of their body weight, men decreased from 83,9 ± 15,99kg to81,7 ± 14,42kg, reducing 2,6% of their weight. About the IMC reductions, reductions also occurred, where women initially presented and IMC of 25,7 ± 4,98kg/m² and after that 24,9 ± 5kg/m². Men decreased from 27,5 ± 4,68kg/m² to 26,7 ± 4,05kg/m². In relation to the fat percentage, women decreased from 30,01 ± 5,1% to 27,1 ± 5,01% and men from 17,7 ± 7,45% to 14,7 ± 6,76%. All parameters showed significant statistics reductions (p<0,05), except for lean mass (LM), that although that was an increase, was not significant. As a result, it is clear that dietary interventions combined with weight training can cause benefits in body composition.","abstract_html":"Benefits of the regular practice of physical exercise in health promotion are increasingly being published, mainly the ones that talk about resistance training (RT).
