Análise das condições de saúde de agentes comunitários de saúde : relação com perfil nutricional e capacidade para o trabalho.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe Community Health Agents (ACS), inserted in the Family Health Strategy (ESF), exert their function exclusively to the Unified Health System (SUS), developing health promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabili tation of health activities, establishing the link staff - community. On the other hand, face a duality between the activities of the team and the assistance community, generating recurring complaints about workload and implications on nutrition. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the health of ACS linked to ESF, through its relationship with nutritional status and work ability. This is a study of character descriptive cross - sectional and observational quantitative nature, conducted between April and June 2014, the 40 Family Health Units (USF) Health District II, in João Pessoa - PB, with 163 selected ACS for convenience. Participants answered a semi - structured questionnaire, covering sociodemographic data , anthropometric, food consumption and capac ity for work. To assess the nutritional status anthropometry was performed. Data were analyzed using the statistical program SPSS, version 21.0. Participants in this stud y were predominantly female (76, 7%), with ages between 25 and 62 years old, dark brown skin (57, 1%), married (31, 3%), with completed secondary schooling (79%) and family income be tween 1 and 5 minimum wages (83, 4%). The nutr itional status revealed that 28,8% were normal weight, 37,4% overweight and 33, 7% obese. In relation to waist circumfe rence, a tota l of 44, 2% ACS showed very high risk fo r cardiovascular disease and 20, 9% at high risk, whereas females had a higher prevalence (p = 0, 028). As for food intake, we found reg ular consumption of legumes (92,6%), cereals (91,4%), meat and eggs (6 7, 5%), fried foods and processed meats (63 ,8%), sweets and soft drinks (59,5%) and fat (76, 7%), and non - regular vegetables (63, 2%) and dairy (81%). The non - regular consumption of fruits w as higher in the overweight (84, 5%). Mo st ACS showed good capacity (3 8, 7%) and moderate (37 , 4 % ) for the job. The most frequently reported diseases we re musculoskeletal injuries (55, 2%) a nd musculoskeletal diseases (44,8%), obesity (34,4%), hypertension (27, 0%), m ild emotional disturbance (26, 4 %), allergies (23, 9%) and gastr itis (20, 2%), whereas there was a relationship between the ability to work and injuries / diseases cited by ACS, with statistically significant results (p<0,05) . With this study it was possible to realize a high prevalence of diseases in these subjects, es pecially overweight and abdominal obesity, along with inadequate feeding practices that may have contributed to these results. There is a need for developing strategies and health policies to improve the quality of life of this population and further studi es that assess the ability to work and their influence on the health of ACS
