In this perspective, we note that there is difficulty learning in teaching exponential function in the classroom, interfering with the development of skills and cognitive reasoning, abstract and concrete students in solving problems that involve your study. For this it was necessary to perform a literature search in order to know the views of scholars and researchers in this area. In addition, we conducted a field survey in order to know the teachers’ conceptions of mathematics concerning the study of the exponential function and its advantages to student learning.
