Utilização do estudo de matemática financeira no ensino de matemática: um olhar sob essa perspectiva numa turma de 8º ano do ensino fundamental.

This research aims to discuss a teaching experience in the school Melquíades Vilar, located in the municipality of Taperoá/PB, with students from a class of 8th grade level. The research involves the application of a proposed exercise in the classroom seeking resolution of a previously organized activity based on data collected in the local market, in Campina Grande/PB and the internet, being applied in the classroom and offered to students, seeking to work with the student body a different way from traditional commonly used in schools. In the work the students interacted counting experiences lived by them showing the advantages and disadvantages in the purchases made by them and their families. Thus, the research is based on seeking to emphasize the importance of the study of financial mathematics, in particular the simple interest, in a way that the learning process becomes dynamic and attractive to students sharpening, curiosity and awakening them a greater interest in the study. In this perspective the use of new methodologies is to obtain results primarily targeting the training of competente citizens and contribute to a new model of society.
