O que pensam os professores sobre a contextualização em matemática? o caso da Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio Escritor José Lins do Rego.

This work purpose is to investigate the meanings of the term contextualization in the current literature and in Brazilian official educational documents, such as Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB), High school National Curriculum Guidelines (DCNEM), National Curricular Parameters for High School (PCNEM), Complementary National Curricular Parameters (PCN+) and Secondary Education Curriculum Guidelines (OCEM). Furthermore, this work seeks to investigate how the teachers are applying this subject practically inside classrooms (or not) through a sur-vey held at Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio Escritor José Lins do Rêgo with math teachers. It was verified that they had difficulties to approach the contextualization of mathematical content and what we consider that would help them work this issue would be refresher courses and an uninterrupted educational formation politic as fun-damental. Besides that, support from the school community and the government would be beneficial.
