The eggs were weighed and randomly distributed into three artificial incubators with automatic turning, under a temperature of 37.7 ° C incubator for a total of 80 eggs. After the hatchings, chicks were individually weighed and submitted to cloacal swab to confirm that they were not contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis. The animals were distributed in a completely randomized design with 3 treatments (Basal No Salmonella, Basal With Salmonella and High With Salmonella) and 10 replications of each bird a repeat. At two days old, was inoculated 0.5 mL culture of Salmonella EnteritidisNal +(9.5 x 107 CFU / mL) in chicks of each box except the animals of the control treatment. After ten days of age (or eight days post-inoculation), all animals were weighed and killed by cervical dislocation. For the performance evaluation, the animals were weighed at the beginning end of the experimental period, thereby obtaining the values of initial weight and final weight by this data we proceeded to calculate the weight gain and feed conversion. For microbiological analysis, held harvest cecal contents of all infected animals. For histological analysis, the three segments of the small intestine were processed to assess villus height, crypt depth and villus: crypt.
