Potencial fisiológico de sementes de feijão guandú em diferentes substratos e temperaturas

Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh, popularly known as pigeon pea beans or pigeon pea is a rustic plant of the family Fabaceae, subfamily faboideae, probably introduced in Brazil by the slaves’ route on ships of slaves from Africa. In this work the main goal was to define the type of substrate and the perfect temperature for conducting germination and vigor in seeds of C. cajan. This study was performed at the Laboratory of Seed Analysis Centre of Agricultural Sciences in the Federal University of Paraiba, in the city of Areia, located in the state of Paraiba, in a completely randomized with treatments arranged in a 5 x 4 factorial, with the factors substrates (paper roll on and between paper "germitest" between washed sand and between vermiculite) and temperatures (25, 30, constant 35 ° C and 20-30 ° C AC). In the evaluating of the treatment effect was made germination and vigor tests (first count and index of germination speed and length and dry mass of shoots and roots). The substrates sand at 30° C and vermiculite 35 ° C are appropriate for testing of seed germination and vigor C. cajan.
