Caracterização geomorfológica e tectônica da folha Rio Mamuaba 1:25.000.
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe current study intends to point out neotectonic’s evidences in the area covered of topographic map from Mamuaba river 1:25.000, through morphotectonic and morphometric analysis applied to segments of drainage network in the area covered by the map. The topographic map investigated is situated on the eastern edge of the state of Paraíba, Northeast Brazil. The analysis was applied through the junction of qualitative information based on patterns and anomalies of the drainage network analysis and quantitative morphometric index buoyed in Relation Declivity Extension (RDE). This calculation was applied in five affluents of great expressiveness and fluvial hierarchy, four of these channels are affluents of the Mamuaba’s River Basin, and a channel is an affluent of the Gramame’s river Basin. The RDE calculation was proposed in order to check if the evolution of drainage and relief of the study area occurred under the influence of recent tectonic. The Morphotectonics Diagnosis was supported on analysis and interpretations of numerical data obtained in the topographic map and derivatives (hypsometric and clinographics letters and 3D model). High values, above 10, found from the application of the RDE index, point to strong evidence of recent tectonic influence in the area, as well as qualitative questions also indicative of structural adjustments as asymmetry, truss patterns and radial drainage network.
