Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe urban landscape consists of several elements in its form.These elements interact by generating transformations that are accelerated by the action of man through his exclusionary social practices, directly affecting their right to live. Lack of financial conditions of decent housing makes people look for areas of risk geological and geotechnical to reside. It is in this environment of exclusion that the agglomerate Saturnino de Brito in João Pessoa in the State of Paraíba, as a result of the segregation dynamics of capital. The agglomerate is part of arising from an attribute. The community has existed for more than 50 years and problems that are common to spontaneous settlement, among these problems social and environmental issues. The latter were essential for the involved in the ongoing urbanization process. Through actions of the public administration, some planning and urbanization measures, has been such as: the withdrawal of people from the most critical areas for rent social, enabling the construction of a retaining wall to contain the slope, addressing the problem area. A singular feature is the fact that the have been relocated to a neighboring area, while maintaining their identity with the local equipped with urban equipment such as bicycle lane, more comfortable residence and leisure area, thus promoting a better quality of life for the residents.
