The survey was developed based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions legacy by Monteiro (1969, 1971 and 2000), as well as the ideas proposed by Sant'Anna Neto (2008 ). For the processing of data and election of standard years was made using descriptive statistics. In order to analyze the correlation between the variables, we opted for the use of simple linear regression model. The results show a large inter - annual variability of rainfall, ranging from 383,3 to 1904,4 mm and with a range of deviations in the range of -489,4 mm to 767,0 mm. The four stations analyzed showed as standard dry year of 1998. Moreover, the posts and thatch Cross of the Holy Spirit presented the same year standard rainy year 2011, while the post Pilar was elected in 2009 and Marí 2000, as representative of the wet category. The relationship between rainfall and sugarcane production showed that the variables are independent, thus expressing a weak correlation, not impacting significantly on agricultural production. Finally, it was seen that small farmers in the municipality of Two stories, perceive these rainfall irregularities similar to the results found in this study, similar to those obtained with the choice of rainy and dry series standards mode responses, and that the same are vulnerable to anomalies in rainfall patterns of the area, may have a negative effect, with declining output, as well as positively with increased productivity.","abstract_html":"The aim of this work consists in reviewing the annual and seasonal variations in rainfall in Microrregion Sapé/PB, and verify the degree of relationship of annual precipitation with sugarcane production in the temporal segment from 1996 to 2012.
