The search for improvement and living with the problem of lack of water is a common practice among the population that inhabits this region, this deficiency as the drinking water can be considered one of the biggest problems faced in this context, especially when it comes to rural communities. This research was conducted in the reservoirs of the rural community of Uruçu in the municipality of Gurinhém Paraíba and aims to analyze the quality of water, using parameters established by the National Environmental Council (CONAMA) and the Technology in Water Analysis, Consulting Environmental Health Surveillance. The aim is still a focus on ways of cleaning and care of the management of water consumed by the community. The aim is still a focus on ways of cleaning and care of the management of water consumed by the community. The cisterns have emerged as a way of solution for coexistence and can be related to natural features of the region. Many programs and projects were created aiming at the implementation of the reservoirs, the acting are the government and some NGOs, they stand out from the ASA (Articulation of Brazilian Semiarid) with his project One Million Cisterns (P1MC) which aims to build one million tanks in semiarid northeast, as well as initiatives run by organizations is the case of COEP (Committee of Entities in the Fight Against Hunger and for Life), responsible for the construction of tanks in the area studied here. Before all this focus and appreciation of cisterns comes a concern about their physical, hygienic structure and the quality of the stored water.
