Caracterização morfológica e morfotectônica do gráben do Rio Mamanguape e adjacências, borda oriental do estado da paraíba.

This work is based on three topographic maps in the scale 1:25.000, of an area located in the eastern part of Paraíba state, in north eastern Brazil. The interpretation of the geomorphological parameters aiming in was made with digitalized maps of the whale graben and its adjacencies Mamanguape river with its middle and lower course, to identify possible neotectonic and structural deformations noticeable in the gráben adjacencies. The used parameters were: Slope - Extension Relation (SER), latitudinal and longitudinal profiles, Asymmetry Factor Watershed (AFW), Hypsometric and Slope Chart (HSC). Thus, the correlations of the data will provide a good understanding of the morphotectonics conditions in which the focused area is inserted. The results of the current work, provided a high level understanding of morphologic and morphotectonic details of the gráben of Mamanguape river. This area presents several peculiarities deriving from neotectonic reactivations after-Cretaceous, such as: shoulders, triangular facets and scarps of normal faults, asymmetrical patterns of the drainage network, inflections of rivers and streams, sharp retreat from the headwaters with possibilities of catch drainage, presence of tipping, straightness in several water courses, anomalous rivers orientation heading from NE to SW.
