A Importância do uso de cisternas no Assentamento Oziel Pereira – Remigio PB.

This work shows the importance of the interrelationship between social technologies Hydro coexistence in semiarid region, where tanks, control access to water and farming family in the settlement Oziel municipality of Remigio Pereira PB. The semi-arid region characterized by spatio-temporal variability of rainfall. Periodic droughts become vulnerable water systems, with strong negative impact on thousands of families. The storage of rainwater tanks is an alternative supply to mitigate the effects of drought. This study aimed to know the conditions of maintenance and management systems to capture rainwater already installed, analyzing the importance of the tank on the control and access to water by households sittest oriented sustainable use. For this, visits were made to the settlement, we applied a semi-structured interviews were conducted with families. We used images from Google Earth mapping of tanks. The results show that the cisterns are important social technologies hydro, because even with little feature, you can create better conditions to live in this region, strengthening the dynamics of socio-economic development for farmers settled.
