O uso e ocupação do solo no entorno do estuário do Rio Gramame e a qualidade da água.

Nowadays concerns regarding the water quality in different water environments have become more evident in the face of growing demand for this natural resource. However, even being known to a significant portion of society, isolated actions were taken to reduce the degradation of environments that harbor this feature. Given the above, this work aims to characterize the use and land cover surrounding the estuary of Gramame river and quality of water in this coastal ecosystem. Methodological procedures were used GIS techniques in order to understand the land cover in the study area, as well as, data limnological monitoring stations of water quality provided by the Environmental Development Superintendency - SUDEMA, analyzing them according to the standards of physical and chemical water stated in the Resolution of the National Council of the Environment - CONAMA 357, March 2005. As the objectives of this research showed that the water quality of the two points adopted for analysis, in general, that meets the recommended legislation. Once for brackish waters, in the case of Class 3 are not set most rigorous standards, due to the use thereof. However, it is noteworthy that there is a great demand for this water then requires a special attention too. For land cover map, it is observed that most of the stipulated area for study in this work corresponds to agricultural activities.
