Pão em árvores: um estudo do caso sobre a fruta-pão Artocarpus sp no Brejo Paraibano

dc:description.abstractThe breadfruit (Artocarpus sp) is a plant belonging to the family Moraceae, tropical and Asian. Plant widely cultivated in the imperial period in Brazil, however today this crop is scarce, where this crop is now planted in backyards of homes and crops of small rural farmers. The field research was conducted in urban and rural town of Sand-Paraíba, located in Heath-Paraiba. And aimed to evaluate the cultivation of breadfruit in Brejo conditions, checking the existing plant population, characterizing this population of agronomic point of view and respect human / plant, noting possible regastar existing varieties and cultivation of the plant in peridomésticos systems. The field research was conducted in two stages: The first stage of the research was carried out among traders-free fairs, supermarkets, merciarias, fruit trees and with farmers to try to know the origin of the breadfruit marketed. In the second step aimed at the location of plants in homes and small farms in the city of Areia-PB and located after the copies perform some questions about the provenance of the owners, who planted and possible age of the plant, as well as the performance of some dendrometric data of the plant. And noting that many of these specimens was not possible to know the origin and who planted, and it was found that regardless of the age of the plant plant development is different in that we speak of crown diameter and stem height, bifurcations, number of fruits produced and compared stem / canopy, fruit / fruit and peel / pulp.
