Aspectos epidemiológicos e microbiológicos na distribuição da água potável em comunidade de João Pessoa - PB.

Water is one of the most important resources for the maintenance of life, however , associated with contamination diseases represent a major threat to health humana.Este work aimed to identify epidemiological and microbiological aspects in the distribution of drinking water in communities in the municipality of João Pessoa . 246 individu als were served chips and applied epidemiological investigation , water samples from the residences of the individuals interviewed were collected and later distributed collectors to achieve the fecal examinations in children . Among the results highlight t he low level of education in more than 90 % of respondents , 64% were not affected by intestinal parasites , 100 % of respondents ratified individuals have access to clean water through the distribution company of the State , reporting only sporadic water packaged in various containers . Among the fecal examinations performed , observed species of pathogenic character as Ascaris lumbricoides and Giardia cysts lamblia.As analyzes included survey of total and fecal coliform microorganisms using standard techn iques by the competent bodies . The results indicated that the samples were free of coliforms , so no indication of faecal contamination .
