The hospital level, medication administration commences with the choice of therapy and prescription fulfillment. Prescription errors correspond to the phase in which happe n a higher amount of medication errors, generating negative consequences to users. In Brazil, the number of studies on the subject is scarce, making it necessary to further research in the area. Aims . Relying on the aforementioned approach was made a bibli ographical survey of prescription errors occurring in Brazilian hospitals, analyzing the most common prescription errors in the country. Methodology. The literature survey was done through a search in the database: google scholar, using the following descr iptors: \"medication errors\" and \"prescription errors.\" Results. Five articles and three dissertations on prescription errors were selected in Brazilian hospitals. The main findings were: in 37.5% of articles the definition of medication errors was found. 2 5% of items the presence of prescription errors was found in three articles and was not cited any of the settings. With respect to the most common types of errors found in prescription, in decision making were: concentration, dose, dosage form, dosage and route of administration. The errors found in the omission of any item on the prescription were: concentration, dosage form, route of administration, dose and dosage. Conclusion .
