Therefore the objective of this research was to evaluate the enteroparasitologic profile of patients attending the clinic ambulatory from Hospital Universitário Lauro Wanderley ( HULW) and to analyze the prevalence of intestinal parasites in rainy periods and not rainy during the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 . The universe of the study consisted of 400 patients whose fecal samples were analyzed in the Laboratory of Clinical Parasitolo gy from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Universidade Federal da Paraíba. For these analyses were employded the techniques of Hoffmann and Blagg. In the sample , it was found that 52.5% of the investigated individuals harboring at least one species of enteroparasito. And in 85.2 % was diagnosed protozoa and only 14.8 % were parasitized by helminths. The most affected age - ranges were between 0 - 10 years old, 31 - 35 years old, 46 - 50 years and above 50 years. The enteroparasitologic profile det ected: Endolimax nana (41.70%), Entamoeba coli (23.12%), Entamoeba histolytica / dispar (13.20%), Giardia lamblia (4.84%), Ancylostomatidae (4.60%), Ascaris lumbricoides (2.70%), Trichuris trichiura (2.70%), Iodamoeba butschlii (2.42%), Strongyloides sterco ralis (2.00%), Schistosoma mansoni (1.10%), Taenia spp . (0.81%), Hymenolepis nana (0.81%). The frequency of intestinal parasites was significantly higher during the rainy season when compared to the respective periods of low rainfall in 2010 (71%) and 2011 (57%), the same did not occour in 2012, which possessed the same frequency in both periods.
