Importância da atenção farmacêutica na adesão ao tratamento com flutamida em um hospital oncológico.

Objective: To evaluate the importance of pharmaceutical care on adherence to treatment with oral antineoplastic flutamide in patients at an oncology hospital in João Pessoa. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional and prospective study was conducted through questionnaires in order to examine adherence to therapy with flutamide, which used the indirect test Morisky and Green. We also evaluated the influence of pharmaceutical care in these patients was based on the Pharmacy Services Questionnaire. Results: We interviewed 17 patients, the group presented mean age 76 years, low education (35% with primary education), married (82%) and retired (100%). As for non-adherence to only 7 (41%) patients were classified as noncompliant, the main cause forgetfulness and carelessness with the time, of which some after the guidelines came out of the group with low degree of adherence. Another factor for non-adherence is the lack of information about the disease and the lack of understanding about the correct way to use the drug. Participants of this study were 100% thought important work, due to good communication that many appreciate. 35 FIGUEIRÊDO, R.R. Artigo Conclusion: The application of pharmaceutical care were effective to improve and facilitate adherence to treatment and that patients were very satisfied that they may have been heard and understood in relation to their illness and therapy.
