Considering that the scientific literature establishes different parameters approach of the theme linking self-medication and case of suicide, the study adopted as the methodological, the literature review document based on the query of theoretical frameworks concerned with dynamic situations marked by improper use of pharmacological drugs, that lead individuals to try to consummate or even the loss of their lives. Amongst the profile of the medicaments poisonings observed in the Paraíba in the year of 2012 the feminine sort had a bigger predominance in notifications (62.4%) and the place of the notified exposition more was of urban zone (70%) approximately. The frequency of the poisonings occurred with ansiolítics medicines (39.1%), presenting clonazepam it (Rivotril) with 38,3%, followed for it diazepam (34.4%) and fenobarbital (Gardenal) (16.1%), antidepressants (5.4%), anti-inflammatory (8.7%), antithermal analgesics and of (18.4%). As expected results, it is pertinent to note that the description of collection of data are allowing compile, characterize and discuss the events surrounding the practice of suicide by ingestion of improper remedies, even lacking further study in view of the high complexity of the subject in itself, can be expanded through the epistemological activity of scientific work, so that, after all, the knowledge gained can come towards greatest possible number of individuals and families that are victims of self-medication purposes of suicide.","abstract_html":"Among the various forms of self-medication, the most perverse and harmful is represented by the type of poisoning whose serious consequences were generated by suicidal motivations, having the present scholarly article, as the main objective of studying the context and the variables that make this subject so relevant.
