We used 15 Alpine dairy goats, Brown, distributed in a 5 x 5 Latin square. We tested five diets made with different contents of neutral detergent fiber from forage (NDFP) in dry matter. For dry matter intake, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, ether extract, non-fiber carbohydrates and total digestible nutrients (TDN) were linearly decreasing when increasing the concentration of the NDFP diet. However, there was a linear increase increasing the digestibility of all nutrients and TDN, when increasing the concentration of the NDFP diet. The addition of neutral detergent fiber coming from forage diets with forage, up to 32% in the dry matter, resulted in positive effects on nutrient digestibility and negative effects on nutrient intake by dairy goats.","abstract_html":"The objective was to evaluate different concentrations of neutral detergent fiber arising forage in the ration with forage on intake and digestibility of nutrients by dairy goats.
