Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis paper discusses the Paraiba Tourmaline, discovered in the mid-1980s in state of Paraíba. Therefore, surveys were conducted in both books, the Internet, and conducting interviews. Despite the discovery of new mines, this still remains a rare type of tourmaline, which, among other reasons, justify its high price. What draws more attention to it is its impressive color and high gloss. In the latter case, there must be a lapidary work to make this aspect appear, transforming Paraiba Tourmaline in a beautiful gem, although this may still be subject to some treatments to enhance their color. People from different places of Brazil and the world as a whole, seek to acquire this gem relatively young in terms of discovery, but already charmed many in this short time. Even against the backdrop of the major jewelry industry, it is not restricted to the world of jewelry itself. Here are exposed data on the production history of Paraiba Tourmaline, as well as its main markets and output forms of Paraíba and the price rise.
