The aim of this study was to develop standard operating procedures many (SOP), referring to routine equipment located in the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry (LEQA) Department of Chemistry (DQ), Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). Standard operating procedures were developed from LEQA concisely, with writing simple and brief. Initially, it was neatly containing a detailed planning stage of the experimental procedure for each equipment, from the observation of a laboratory's user. The level of detail provided for all SOP varied according to their importance, for example, if the procedure was physical and / or chemical, electric current, equipment calibration, standards used, software instructions, cleaning, among others. For procedures not become heavy and impractical for daily use, due to information overload, we used images of the equipment itself. The verification and approval of SOP was evaluated by a user who was not trained in that procedure. When you test the procedure could not play due to its limited value, the SOP was revised. After implementation of SOPs, was necessary to review the procedures, taking into account the principles of quality LEQA. Thus, the procedures were revalidated by conducting a self-assessment of SOP elaborated, including the shortcomings of previously written procedures and where the main objectives were not being achieved. The implementation of the SOPs in LEQA improved organizational behavior of users, creating new perceptions, mindset, attitudes and skills, thus modifying the work environment.
