For its development, three techniques were used in order to analyze the behavior and dynamics between soil and vegetation in some degraded areas in the districts of Cariri. The first technique used was the infiltrometer test, conducted in the municipality of Caraúbas to identify the level of the water infiltration rate. The other test was to collect soil for identifying patterns of fertility, held in Santo Domingo and Cariri Coxixola. The latter technique was based on the analysis of vegetation from a transect, held in Santo Domingo and Cariri Coxixola.
