Uma experiência com estudantes: resolvendo problemas matemáticos de taperoá-PB.

This research aimed to analyze about solving problems with mathematical situations experienced by farmers Taperoá -PB, which will be addressed in the four operations involving numerical sets. The studywas conducted with a group of 9th grade at a public school in the city of Taperoá -PB. For this we adopted as the main theorists who discuss the Troubleshooting and the authors Background: Smole and Diniz (2001), Dante (1991) and Van de Walle (2009), Pozo (1998), among others. The methodology used to support theoretical approach was descriptive study, according to the research objectives, drawn from material published on the topic. The analysis of this study data was characterized as a simple case study, according to Yin (2005). For this, we chose as the main instrument for data acquisition semistructured two questionnaires applied at different times.At first17 students participated in the study,and the next momentwere 22 participants. At the end of the study, we found that most students do not satisfactorily understood the contents of the sets of numbers, using the same questions everyday student. The survey also showed how little (or no) use of the methodology of Problem Solving in school investigated, requiring further discussion of this methodology in schools of this county, whose absence compromises the educational development of students, a fact that deserves attention from authorities responsible public.
