O uso de calculadora na resolução de problemas no ensino da matemática nos anos finais do ensino fundamental no município de Sertãozinho/PB.

This research aims to study the use of calculators in mathematics education, aiming at determining the importance of the calculator as a teaching tool in mathematics education. The final years of elementary school of the State School for elementary and high school Mouzinho João de Freitas in the town of Sertaozinho in the state of Paraiba was the field study. Students in Year 7 were the research subjects. It is a field research, qualitative in nature. To support the analysis of data from field research drew on theoretical frameworks of REMA (2009), Medeiros (2004); MUSTACHE (1998); MAMEDE (2001), among others. The study characterized as qualitative research procedures and used as tools for collecting participant observation data, bibliographic and documentary research, and intervention activities also utilizing the use of the calculator. These methodological procedures, aligned with the theoretical allowed to present reflections on the research problem. The results are presented in four chapters. By introducing technological tools in our case, the calculator, the activities in the classroom to provide students a new vision of education in order to develop the skills and logical-mathematical student and the formation of the citizen.
