In Brazil, the areas that are susceptible to desertification are found in great part within the semi-arid region, which covers most of the Brazilian Northeast and a small part of the Southeast. This work aimed to evaluate possible changes from the edaphic point of view in desertified areas after the isolation and recovery process. Analyzing the effects of isolation on soil chemical and physical characteristics. Was monitored possible changing at the physical and chemical soil characteristics, including xerophytic cultures (impacted area), witness area(native shrub or herbaceous vegetation) and external area. Therefore, two soil samples were collected at a profundity of 0,20 composing a composite sample. As for physical characteristics, a sandy texture was highlighted, both in internal and external area regardless their history in terms of anthropization. As for soil density of the surveyed area, the highest values were equal to Intern Impact (1,77 g/cm³), Maracajá (2013) obtained bigger values for Witness Impact (1,28 g/cm3). As for chemical analysis, some of the elements obtained significant values (Phosphorus, Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium). pH has confirmed alkaline tendency for the areas. It has not been found Aluminum in any of them. SB values for the surveyed area varied in some areas presenting identicals to the ones obtained for CTC. There were a sensitive reduction of MO during 2012 and 2016.
