It was based on two of the five Jakob Nielsen‟s usability attributes: Efficiency of Use and Subjective Satisfaction. For literature review, a research was carried out in various electronic and printed informational channels (books, journals, monographs, dissertations and, websites, among others), both of them national or international. For this purpose, the theoretical reference introduces the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ITCs) and, the creation and evolution of the Internet, discusses the relations and interdisciplinarity between the fields of Computer and Information Sciences, drawing connections to Users and Usability studies. It also introduces the origins, definitions and approaches to these studies, as well as the usability of websites and characterizes the analyzed environment, the UFPB‟s website. The research is characterized by being of descriptive nature, in a qualitative and quantitative methodological approach. It had as subjects, the students aforementioned. Both printed and online literature research, together with documental research, questionnaire and interview were used for data collection. For data analysis, it was used descriptive analysis, by classifying the data into specific and general categories. From the data analysis result, the subjects‟ profile was drawn and it characterized the vast-majority of them as young population and experienced users of information systems. It also shows the difference between the students‟ gender, where Computer Science students are mostly male, in opposite to Librarianship, where most students are female. Concerning the Efficiency of Use, a significant percentage of Computer Science students complained about the overall interaction with the site while executing the tasks which they needed to do. As for the students of Librarianship, the interaction with the site, referring to the same approach, was considered efficient for most of them. Regarding the Subjective Satisfaction, the vast-majority of both Computer Science and Librarianship students was not satisfied with the fulfillment of their informational needs when accessing the site. The data collected and analyzed during this research confirmed the importance of the advices and views of the students as users of the Federal University of Paraíba's (UFPB) website, considering them to be an essential part in the development of this information channel.","abstract_html":"This research aimed to analyze the usability of the Federal University of Paraíba‟s (UFPB) website from the perspective of the last-year undergraduate students of Computer Science and Librarianship courses in the aforesaid university.
