Necessidades de informação dos usuários da biblioteca Manoel Bandeira

School libraries are centers that work with the transmission and dissemination of information and knowledge, and intermediate in the teaching-learning process. The research on screen reveals the information needs of the users from Manoel Bandeira Library, at Evolução School in João Pessoa (PB). Its general objective is to describe the users’ informational needs, and the specific objectives are to identify the profile of the same users, check the barriers during the process of information search and investigate the information services offered by the library. In compliance with the achievement of objectives, the methodological procedures followed the proposal of exploratory and descriptive research in a quantitative and qualitative approach, with a questionnaire as an instrument of data collection. However the research results showed that users have as main barrier in their informational needs the lack of bibliographical sources, as well as the small space for study. Although, the Manoel Bandeira Library reaches, in general, mostly the informational needs of its users. The research provides an opportunity to conduct a proposal for work to be performed by library management, with focus on the quality of the services provided to users.
